Friday Forecast - September 22

This week was short, but we sure did accomplish much!

• The Blue Jay Pride and Guard will represent LHS tomorrow (Saturday) in the Liberty Fall Festival Parade.  We are number 21in the lineup.  Students need to arrive no later than 9:30am at Heritage Middle School.  
• Dress code for the parade is:  Show Shirt, Black Shorts, and Tennis Shoes. 
• Students should NOT bring instrument cases or equipment bags.  There will not any place to store them while we are on the route.

• September 28 - Please drop off any clothing and items that can be donated to Savers to the band trailer during our night rehearsal from 6-8:30pm.

• We have arranged for FREE help for the all district material.  Please take advantage of this!  It's also the material we use for the LHS Concert/Symphonic auditions that will take place on 10/26 after school.  Here are the offerings (note the dates and times!):

• October 3 - Elementary Tour with marching band and guard - all day

• October 4 - Percussion Clinic with Drew Morales, Professor of Percussion, 5:30-7:30pm at LHS! Be sure to send your percussion students so they can benefit from this FREE clinic!

• Homecoming is October 6.  We will perform the entire show at the game that evening.  We will definitely need help moving props, screens, and all the frontline equipment.  If you can help, please contact Mrs. Centa at libertybandcentral@gmail.com

• October 10 - MWSU Tournament of Champions - Schedule

Load trucks/trailers at 4:00pm
Eat dinner at LHS (provided by Huey's on the Square)

Depart LHS at 5:00pm

Arrive at MWSU around 6pm

Prep for performance - instruments, uniforms, props, equipment

Warm up at 7:15pm

Move to gate at 7:30pm

Performance at 7:45pm

Uniforms get packed after performance (Must check in with S/L)

Frontline packs up after performance

Large instruments (sousaphones/drums) packed up after performance

Awards at 8:45pm

Arrive back to LHS around 10:30pm

October 14 - Park Hill Marching Invitational - Schedule

Load trucks at 8am

Depart LHS at 9am

Arrive at Park Hill at 9:30am

Go and watch performances from 10:15am-11:00am

11:30-12 - lunch

12-prep for performance (uniforms, etc)

Warm up at 12:45pm

Travel to gate at 1pm

Performance at 1:15pm

Awards at 1:45pm

Critique between 2:20-4pm based upon placement in prelims

Finals begin at 5:15 and go until 8:15, time is based upon placement in prelims

Frontline packs up after finals performance, change out of uniforms and pack instruments

Finals awards at 9pm

• October 16 & 17 - Parent Teacher Conferences - if your student has an A in the course, please leave the conference spots available for those that need to use them those two evenings.
• October 21 - Odessa Marching Invitational - when we receive the schedule we will post on all information sources
• October 26 - LHS Concert/Symphonic Auditions, after school - students will sign up for individual 7 minute slots and results will be posted by the afternoon of 10/27 (at the latest!)
